Batteries age from cycling and from time/temperature even at rest. A pack in a hot garage on a Queensland slab may hit calendar limits before cycle limits. Installation environment is part of lifetime, not an afterthought.
Some brands warrant a total energy throughput (for example a number of MWh) instead of only cycle counts. Divide throughput by usable kWh to estimate equivalent full cycles. Compare that with your expected daily kWh shift.
Virtual power plants can add extra cycles during grid events. Ask whether VPP throughput counts against warranty the same way as self-consumption cycling. Extra credits are less attractive if they burn warranty faster.
