How we match solar quotes

MrSolar is a lead-gen marketplace for Australian solar. Homeowners request quotes for free; participating CEC-accredited installers pay a lead fee when we send them a matched enquiry. This page explains the method behind that match — and what we do not claim.

What we optimise for

1. CEC accreditation — installers must hold a current Clean Energy Council accreditation for design and/or installation.
2. Local fit — suburb / postcode, system size, and service type (panels, battery, EV charger, commercial, off-grid).
3. Capacity — we prefer partners who can respond promptly in that area; we do not auction the homepage ranking of brand reviews.

Commercial disclosure

Installers pay MrSolar a lead fee for matched enquiries. Payment does not buy placement in our editorial guides, brand reviews, or comparison tables. Those pages are researched from CER/CEC product lists, published specs, and installer feedback. If a page shows indicative prices, they are planning ranges — not a ranked score of installers.

How location numbers are built

City and suburb pages join multiple datasets each build (last STC master refresh: 2026-08-05):

• Location register — suburb name, postcode, LGA, region, state
• Climate / STC zone defaults from our niche master table
• State rebate program notes and indicative FiT bands
• DNSP guidance at state level (confirm export limits on the quote)

Figures are recalculated when we rebuild the site. They are not a live government API feed and can lag policy changes.

Relative search interest on location pages

Where a location page shows “relative search interest”, that score is derived from Google Search Console impressions for related URLs plus a small boost from our location tier (metro vs regional). It is a first-party demand proxy for SEO planning — not live installer enquiry counts, not paid ranking, and not a popularity leaderboard of businesses.

What we are not

• Not an installer — we do not design, install, or warrant systems.
• Not an endorsement of any brand or installer named on a page.
• Not a star-rating or complaint tribunal — we monitor obvious signals but do not claim complete complaint screening.
